Crate training a puppy must establish the fact the the crate is the new home of the puppy. At meal times always put their bowl of food inside the crate leaving the door open the whole time while they are eating. The crate will then become associated with the food they love.

Timing is crucial when you train a dog, so you need to spend an adequate amount of time training them, but not too much. Begin with shorter training sessions and gradually increase the time each day. You can figure out when your dog isn’t paying attention during training.

Consistency is key in crate training a puppy. The first thing to keep in mind is that you must let him use the bathroom as soon as he’s let out. Eventually, your dog will wait until you let him out of his crate to relive himself.

Your dog may not learn a command right away. You may need to repeat the command more than 20 or 30 times. Using the exact same command and remain patient with them so that they can get it.

Choose one phrase to use every time you want your dog to do his business. For example, you could use the phrase, “go potty” when you take them outside to help them remember what to do when you go outside and say the command.

Approach any unfamiliar dog with care. Walk slowly toward him and allow the dog to sniff your hand before trying to pet the dog. As you do this, you give the dog an opportunity to acclimate to your scent and become used to your presence. When a dog recognizes the scent, they won’t fear you and will follow commands.

Now that the people who are interested in training their new pet dog have, hopefully, learned some new tricks, they can proceed to pass them along to their pets. Once a dog is on its way to learning, the owner will begin to appreciate the dedication that he or she has shown for doing the right thing for man’s best friend.
